~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
numbers to enter on your coupon based on sequence prediction. To
further enhance the chances of winning a comprehensive Perm generator
is included. Being mouse driven it is fast, easy to use, and is suitable for both
both casual punter and serious investor. The program also a uses the new
Bestfit auto-tune feature.
To get the best from Dividend Winner please read the instructions
carefully. It is important to be familiar with section 3.2
( USER INTERFACE ). If you are unfamiliar with the PPmore text viewer then
please press the HELP key for a command summary.
Dividend Winner is Agentware ( Please read section 2 for details of how
you can benefit from this unique method of registration )
Section 2 AGENTWARE
~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Agentware method of registration is designed to encourage users to
register the software they use by allowing them to participate in the
success of any program which uses the Agentware registration method.
How the system operates.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Located on the disk is a file containing the names of people who have
registered as users of the program. These people are referred to as
AGENTS. Every time the program is run this file is loaded - it may
contain between 1 to 4 Agents. To register as a user of this software you
must send the fee of TWO POUNDS to each agent. There may only be 1 agent
on your particular disk, so it may cost as little as two pounds to
register your software and become an agent.
A list of the Agents who have already registered can be found at any time
by selecting the menu item CURRENT AGENT LIST from the Agentware menu.
What you get in return for registering.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When you register each agent will send you a unique set of code numbers.
When you have codes from all the agents who are listed in your copy of the
program you should select INPUT CODES from the menu. You must now enter
the code numbers you have been given by each agent. If all is correct
you will be asked to supply your name and address. When this is done
you will be given your own unique code number. You will now have become
an agent and your name will be added to the Agent list and saved to
disk. You will become Agent number 1 and all other agents will be moved
up a number. Since the system will only allow 4 Agents to take part in
the system whoever was Agent 4 will be removed from the disk.
How do you benefit ?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As an Agent it is now in your interest to distribute as many copies of
your disk as possible. Since your name now appears on the Agent list
you will now receive part of the registration fee when a user registers
a copy of the disk you have distributed. Since your name will stay on the
disk till you reach the postion of Agent 4 you will also receive
registration fees from the distribution disks of those who register
below you. Your name could appear on a great many disks. Possible
sources of distribution include Public Domain libraries, Club libraries,
Disk swappers etc.
Please Note: If this method of registration proves popular other titles
will follow which make use of this system. These programs will be made
available to anybody who registers this program early enough.
How do I register and become an Agent?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
To register this software and take advantage of this system by becoming
an Agent you must send the sum of two pounds to each agent on your
program disk. If you have an early copy of the program this may cost
as little as two pounds. The registration procedure is as follows:
1] Select AGENTWARE from the main menu then select CURRENT AGENT LIST.
Make a note of the address of each Agent on your disk. You can also
print out the address by selecting PRINT from the menu.
2] To EACH Agent on the program you will need to send a STAMPED SELF
ADDRESSED ENVELOPE plus a cheque or Postal Order for the sum of TWO
POUNDS. It is not advisable to send cash through the post. Enclose
a note which states that you wish to register as a user the program.
PLEASE REMEMBER TO STATE WHICH PROGRAM YOU ARE REGISTERING AS THERE
MAYBE MORE THAN ONE PROGRAM USING THE AGENTWARE SYSTEM.
Please write in the Top Left hand corner of your return envelope
the number of the Agent to whom you are writing. This will make it
easy to identify which Agent sent which code numbers. It also allows
Agents to judge their progress through the system.
3] When you have the code numbers from all Agents in your possession
you can select INPUT CODES from the Agentware menu. When prompted
you should type in the codes provided by the Agents on your disk.
If all is correct a screen will appear which will allow you to
enter your name and address plus any other message. You only have
one chance to do this so please make sure your name and address
are correct before clicking on CANCEL. Your unique set of code
numbers will now appear. PLEASE WRITE DOWN THESE NUMBERS AND KEEP
THEM IN A SAFE PLACE. THEY WILL ONLY BE ISSUED ONCE.
4] Place your original program disk in drive df0: MAKE SURE THE DISK
IS WRITE ENABLED. The modified Agent_file will be saved to disk
with your name appearing as Agent number 1. YOU CAN NOW BEGIN TO
DISTRIBUTE YOUR OWN COPY OF THE PROGRAM ON WHICH YOU WILL RECEIVE
REGISTRATION FEES.
Your responsibilities as an Agent
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As an Agent you must ensure that you deal with registration requests
as quickly as possible. Do not delay in returning your code numbers - you
will only be slowing down your own distribution network.
Distributing this program.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Possible sources of distribution are listed at the start of this chapter.
If you do wish to send this program to a library please enclose a note
saying that the program will only work on any machine with 1 Megabyte
or more of memory and is freely distributable.

displayed.
Section 5.10 FULL REQUESTER
~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The full requester appears when you attempt to add a record above the
number of 208. This figure represents four years of results.
When this requester appears the database will be reconfigured and you
must take the following action. Click on the "OK" gadget to clear the
requester. A file requester will now appear to give you the chance to
save the current database. It is advisable to save the database with a
different file name to its previous one. The program will now take the
last 53 weeks of data and make this data the first 53 weeks of data in
the new database. The database will now only be 53 weeks long and you
can continue to add data to it. You can now save this database as your
default database. The program works in this way so that when you have
to start a new database there will always be enough information in it
to make predictions.
As an example let us suppose you have a database named "DEF.PRED" which
is 208 weeks long. You click on the "ADD" gadget to add another record
and the Full Requester appears. Click on the "OK" gadget to cancel this
requester and a save requester appears. Save your database with a
different file name, for example, "1990/94.PRED". The database will be
saved. The database will now be reconfigured and you can now continue to
add data. When you save the database save it with your original file name
i.e. "DEF.PRED".
Section 5.11 THE DATABASE
~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
PLEASE ONLY ENTER JACKPOT DRAWS INTO THE DATABASE.
The database is the most important element Dividend Winner and it
is vital to ensure that you don't corrupt it. In practice this means
you must always enter the correct results each week and every week.
Any gaps between weeks in the database will seriously impair the
efficiency of the program. There are only two rare occasions when you
may miss a week - when no Jackpot draws occur, or when there are
more than twenty three score draws. It only takes a few minutes each week
to maintain the database.
You need at least seven weeks of results in the database before the program
can start to make a valid prediction.
Section 5.12 SPECIFICATIONS
~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Database ....... Maximum = 208 Weeks
Amount of numbers returned by predict function ....... Maximum = 30
Standing entry check ( Check Function ) ....... Maximum = 28
Section 5.13 QUICK START
~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When Dividend Winner first loads it searches the disk for a database
named "DEF.PRED", and if found, loads it into memory. For speed of use
it is advisable to name your current database "DEF.PRED".
